Central information for first-semester students

There is a first semester welcome event for each degree programme before the start of the lecture period. You should definitely take part!

In the winter semester, there is also the central event "Welcome@H-BRS" to welcome all first-semester students.

A successful start to your studies requires sufficient time, a little practice and some knowledge. This is exactly where the Fresher‘s Programme of the Student Advice Centre comes in. It provides first semester students with support in the still unfamiliar everyday life of studying.

If you want to learn new languages or train intercultural skills, this is the right place for you. Explore new worlds and benefit from our wide range of training and advisory activities, both in the required courses and in our electives.

The online preparation courses for Mathematics are only available in German.

In the Department of Computer Science, there are bridge courses on maths and programming before the start of studies.
After the welcome events, pre-courses with important content for first-semester students take place in all departments. Further information is available during the welcome events (see dates above).
