Future Skills at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg
Future Skills at H-BRS - competences for studies, career and social responsibility
What are Future Skills?
Future Skills, also known as future competences, refer to interdisciplinary competences that help students to deal with complex, dynamic and uncertain requirements in their studies, career and society. They complement subject-specific knowledge and enable students to categorise new developments and take responsibility and active action.
Future Skills are not understood as a rigid list of individual abilities, but as a dynamic orientation framework. They bundle competencies that can be acquired at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg in various courses.
Future Skills include the reflective use of digital technologies, the ability to understand social and organisational change processes, as well as basic personal and social skills such as communication, cooperation, critical thinking and taking responsibility. The decisive factor is not learning individual tools, but the ability to apply knowledge flexibly, change perspectives and deal proactively with uncertainty.
The university's own competency model and the Future Skills Electives Catalogue create transparency about which types of interdisciplinary competencies are included in the degree programme.
The Future Skills Electives Catalogue
Add key future skills to your degree programme.
In the Future Skills Electives Catalogue, you will find interdisciplinary courses that address digital, transformative and personal skills and - depending on your degree programme - can be integrated into your studies.
Choose courses that complement your subject, open up new perspectives and prepare you for future professional and social challenges.
The Future Skills Competency Model
Which future skills play a role in the degree programmes?
The H-BRS Competency Model shows how digital skills, transformative skills and classic key qualifications are categorised.
The interdisciplinary skills are supplemented by subject-specific skills.
H-BRS Future Skills
Which competences count as Future Skills at H-BRS?
The overview shows which digital, transformative and classic key qualifications are anchored in the competency model and how we have defined them for ourselves
