Digital Internationalisation strengthens virtual mobility by expanding digital courses offered in English with international partners.

Digital internationalisation plays a significant role in the internationalisation strategy of H-BRS. Digital tools allow cross-border distances to be overcome without leaving the campus (virtual mobility). In University Development Plan 3 (2021-2025), we have made a plan to develop and test digital formats and suitable methods in teaching, research, transfer and administration. Thus, we will enable more and more university members to cooperate across borders and develop international competences.

Less than 10% of the students at H-BRS take advantage of the outgoing offers of our university, whereas 90% of our students cannot go abroad, due to either financial or health related reasons or family commitments. Digital internationalisation offers students to gain international and intercultural skills while staying at home. In addition, participating in digital international formats can break down mobility barriers and arouse interest in international exchange programmes.

The Team Digital Internationalisation offers a comprehensive range of digital professional courses in English that allow our students to gain international experience, practice digital collaboration and earn ECTS. In these courses, H-BRS students learn together with students from partner universities and other foreign students without leaving their home workplace (virtual mobility).

With its digital courses, the Digital International General Studies (DISG), offers students the opportunity to attend interdisciplinary courses in different disciplines at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences as well as at international partner universities. In addition, the project Digital Internationalisation of the Faculties (DIF), also creates an extensive range of digital subject-specific courses in English that enable our students to gain international experience, practise digital collaboration skills and acquire ECTS.

The following staff will advise you about the virtual mobility programmes offered by each department or the campus-wide DISG programmes.
