Digital Internationalization of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Technical Journalism

The Digital Internationalization of Faculties (DIF) project strengthens the expansion of digital courses in English in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Technical Journalism.

The EMT department promotes the project "Digital Internationalization of the Departments" (DIF) through various offers:

  • Support for lecturers in the implementation of English-language digital courses.
  • Implementation of English-language courses in cooperation with international partner universities
  • Implementation of English-language courses as OER (Open Educational Resource)

Hybrid courses with partner universities

Some lectures are taught at one of our partner universities or here at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University at campus and are shared online with other universities. The students who are not present at the presenting university can attend the lecture online either in a lecture hall at their campus or from home.

Remote labs for hands-on practice

In Engineering, hands-on labs for practical exercises and experiences are indispensable. Traditionally, these lab exercises need a physical laboratory at the university.

Remote labs represent an online variant of these traditional labs. Students can access real hardware via internet and perform their experiments independently from time and space.
