Closing ceremony for German courses
The intensive German B2.2 and C1 preparatory courses, which began in September 2025, ended in January 2026 with a closing ceremony. These courses were coordinated by the International Office and the Language Centre and funded by the Bridge2Success (DAAD) and NRWege ins Studium (MKW) programmes.

Call for Participation: IFIP Summer School 2026 on Data Protection and Identity Management in Leuven
From 10 to 14 August 2026, the renowned IFIP Summer School on data protection and identity management will take place in the picturesque Flemish university town of Leuven. The host is KU Leuven, the alma mater of Prof. Stefan Schiffner, who teaches data protection and data protection technologies as an expert at H-BRS in the Department of Computer Science.

Zum Jahresabschluss fand an der Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg die Abschlussveranstaltung „Sicher. Souverän. Vernetzt“ der beiden Forschungsprojekte CrossComITS und NEBULA statt. Die vom Bundesministerium für Forschung, Technologie und Raumfahrt geförderten Projekte beschäftigten sich Cybersecurity und Desinformation, vor allem mit Bezug auf vulnerable Gruppen.

The research services of the library now offer researchers a new tool for the secure storage of research data.Coscine stores data from research projects in accordance with the FAIR principles. Coscine offers structured storage with metadata management, collaborative cooperation, and long-term storage for research data.

Intercultural Media and Culture in Context: An Expert Guest Lecture
The course “Media & Culture” taught by Eileen Küpper (Language Centre) for the Department of Engineering and Communication, explores how media cultures are shaped by differing value systems, communication styles and power relations etc. Drawing on a range of intercultural approaches, the seminar encourages students to examine how perspectives are formed, how misunderstandings emerge in cross-cultural interactions, and how media both reflects and reinforces cultural norms. Central to the course is a strong emphasis on self-reflection, inviting students to critically engage with their own cultural positioning and interpretive frameworks.
