Welcome first semester Biomedical Sciences (M.Sc.)

A good study programme starts with good preparation - you'll need information about the organisation of the study programme, the time schedule, the contents, the people involved and how things work with us. This information is provided during the orientation week before the actual start of the lecture period.

We are organising an exciting programme for you, starting on Wednesday, 23th September 2026, on our Campus in Rheinbach (von Liebig Str. 20, 53359 Rheinbach). During the orientation week (see provisional programme below) you will receive, amongst other things, an introduction to the degree programme, the library and the International Office and have the opportunity to meet your professors and fellow students.

The orientation week is held entirely in English and starts on the first day with the following programme:

• 09:00 – 09:30 Welcome at the Department - Dekan Prof. Dr. Jäger, Raum H201
• 09:30 – 10:15 Introduction MSc Programme - Prof. Dr. Muscate-Magnussen & Prof. Dr. Schnappauf
• 10:15 – 11:00 Introduction / Enrollment Electives - Prof. Dr. Franken
• 11:00 – 11:45 Vorstellung Deutschkurse - Stephanie Cramer, H201
• 11:45 – 12:30 Vorstellung Sprach- & Schreibangebote - Angela Althen (Sprachenzentrum) & Eva Goletz (Schreiblabor), englisch
• 12:30 – 13:30 Lunch Break
• 13:30 – 14:15 Lab 101 Brückenkurse - Prof. Dr. Sass & Prof. Dr. Muscate-Magnussen, Gebäude F
• 14:15 – 15:45 Lab Tour - Prof. Dr. Athaus & AG, Kleingruppen, Gebäude F
• 15:45 – 17:00 optional: Campus Rally - Fachschaft
• Ab 17:00 – Open End: Social Event with Fellow Students - Fachschaft
