FSJ an der Hochschule: Zwischen Orientierung und Innovation
Nach dem Abitur erst einmal orientieren: Tim Gilles absolviert derzeit ein Freiwilliges Soziales Jahr an der Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg. Im Zentrum für Wissenschafts- und Technologietransfer (ZWT) und im Internationalen Zentrum für Nachhaltige Entwicklung (IZNE) unterstützt er Projekte rund um Nachhaltigkeit, Innovation und Wissenschaftskommunikation – und gewinnt dabei wertvolle Einblicke in die Arbeitswelt und mögliche berufliche Perspektiven.

Her thesis, entitled “Seeing Through the Stars: A Journey Through Human Fake Review Detection”, was defended at the University of Twente and addresses a highly topical issue: how can consumers better identify fake online customer reviews?

H-BRS receives DAAD funding under the “Academic Horizons – Attracting Global Minds” programme
H-BRS is one of 20 higher education institutions receiving funding under the “Academic Horizons – Attracting Global Minds” programme run by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). This programme is part of the 1000-Köpfe-Plus initiative and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR). The university has secured around €750,000 for the project “TALENT – Talent Attraction and Lifelong Empowerment for New Technologies” (May 2026 - end of 2029), which is being implemented by the Department of Computer Science, the Graduate School and the International Office.
