International Cyber Security Rumble 2022 successful

With 868 participating teams from 98 countries, the Cyber Security Rumble 2022 got off to a successful start. Exciting challenges were mastered in teams with a maximum of 6 participants.

Since 2020, it has been organised by NVISO together with Team Red Rocket and students from Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences. The partner is Cyber Campus NRW

The Cyber Security Rumble 2022 is a competition, similar to Jeopardy CTF, in the field of information security. Within 24 hours, the teams had to solve challenges from a variety of categories, e.g. crypto, network, reversing, web, mobile, pwning or forensics. The complexity of the challenges ranged from simple to hair-raising.

The winners among the students were:
* EnoFlag (TU Berlin)
* 0rganizers (ETH Zurich)
* KITCTF (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology)

The student teams won SANS courses, yubikeys and Hak5 gadgets.

In the international ranking, the winners were:
* Balsn (National Taiwan University)
* justCatTheFish (Poland)
* r3kapig (China)

The international teams won a custom pentagon pennant with their team logo, sponsored by Team RedRocket. Team RedRocket was founded at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences by dedicated students who are committed to cyber security.

The organising team is already planning the Cyber Security Rumble 2023.
