We regularly organise "Innovation Breakfasts" on current key topics. Established and potential partners from the region meet with experts from research and business to develop ideas for current and future challenges.

"Science Meets Business" - Digital innovation breakfast 

How can a company engage with Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (H-BRS) and what are the concrete cooperation options?

Question of this kind were answered at the Science Meets Business digital Innovation Breakfast, which brought together 25 businesses from Neunkirchen-Seelscheid on 18 November 2020 for the Communal Innovation Partnerships under the H-BRS project Campus to World.

First digital Innovation Breakfast on sustainability

The first digital Innovation Breakfast under the umbrella of the Municipal Innovation Partnerships as part of the Campus to World project of Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (H-BRS) met with a great response. Around 30 participants followed the invitation to listen to keynotes and discuss sustainability on 9 September 2020.

Five keynotes touched the whole breadth of sustainability. The attending consultants, business people, researchers and citizens all agreed that sustainability affects everyone and we can all contribute.

Bio-innovation Innovation Breakfast - research for real life

Representatives of bio innovation park Rheinland e.V. and H-BRS researchers exchanged ideas on the topics of sustainable building materials, bio-based packaging and bioactive additives from plant materials during a breakfast on 28 November. The attendants were greeted by Prof. Witzleben of H-BRS and Bert Spilles, Mayor of Meckenheim. The researchers followed up with keynotes on their applied science projects.

Dr. Markus Nöthen of REDPACK Maschinen GmbH spoke about his experience cooperating with H-BRS. Further cooperation options were discussed intensively.

Energy systems of the future: sector coupling for the energy transition

The Innovation Breakfast on energy systems of the future took place on 16 May 2019. The three keynotes were followed by a lively discussion in the BusinessCampus cafeteria. The discussion led into an info event on current funding opportunities in the energy sector from the federal office Nationale Kontaktstelle Energie (NKS).

The future of mobility: connecting corporate, public and private concepts

The Innovation Breakfast took place in September 2018. After brief keynotes from researchers and professionals, participants exchanged ideas on innovative mobility concepts with our experts and other business representatives in order to develop answers to current and future challenges.

Digitisation in practice: funding opportunities and success stories for companies

At the end of July, H-BRS invited local businesses to its first Innovation Breakfast in Neunkirchen-Seelscheid.

Representatives from diverse industries came to the council hall. Mayor and host Nicole Sander thanked H-BRS for organising the event and underlined the importance of digitisation for businesses.

The municipality and H-BRS organised a special project partnership in the previous year to expand the exchange between researchers, businesses and society and find joint solutions to concrete questions.

Retaining skilled workers and prevention: success stories and funding opportunities for businesses

The second Innovation Breakfast of the Campus to World project was received with great interest. Experts and business representatives met in Neunkirchen-Seelscheid on 7 November to learn about and discuss topics such as labour shortages and occupational health management.

Experts and entrepreneurs at second innovation breakfast

Nicole Sanders, mayor of Neunkirchen-Seelscheid, welcomed the participants at the town hall. She described the cooperation between H-BRS and the partner municipality Neunkirchen-Seelscheid under the sub-project Municipal Innovation Partnerships.

The following expert talks discussed labour shortages and health management from a scientific and practical view. Many participants took the opportunity to exchange information and report their own experiences.
