If you have obtained a school-leaving certificate that qualifies you for university studies in your home country but is not recognized in Germany as a higher education entrance qualification (Hochschulzugangsberechtigung, HZB), you are required to attend a Studienkolleg before beginning your studies. This requirement reflects differences in educational systems, curricula, and the duration of schooling, making additional preparation essential for academic success in Germany.

The Bonn-Rhein-Sieg Unviersity of Applied Sciences has established partnerships with regional and virtual Studienkollegs to support prospective international students who wish to study at H-BRS. These partnerships help students acquire the necessary qualifications and successfully pass the required entrance examinations. Graduates of the partner Studienkollegs may be eligible for guaranteed admission to selected MINT (STEM) Bachelor degree programs at H-BRS.

International prospective students who already hold a recognised higher education entrance qualification and are based in Germany – particularly in the region – but still need to achieve German language proficiency at the C1 level can take advantage of our free intensive language courses (language centre).
