Hörsaal EINS, the choir of the Bonn-Rhine-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, was the organiser of the charity concert in favour of UNICEF Aid for Children (Kindernothilfe). Choir Director Dirk Eisenack had thus acted on the initiative of a Language Centre member.

The variety of the programme was ensured: instead of organising the evening alone, the Hörsaal EINS members had invited their friends. Thus, the prize-winning ensembles Sideway (guitars - small photo on the start page) and Magic Flutes of the Troisdorf School of Music as well as three additional choirs performed: Johanneskantorei Troisdorf, Singgemeinschaft Birk and d’accord Bonn.

To round the evening off, the guests joined in singing the round “Dona nobis pacem” with all the musicians. Marianne Schütterle, the Head of the Bonn UNICEF Group, briefly depicted the situation in Haiti, explaining why it is necessary to help children in particular - even one year after the severe earthquake. As a consequence, the visitors to the concert in our University’s lecture hall “Audimax” were generous: Hörsaal EINS collected donations after the concert and can now remit roughly € 1,000 to UNICEF in favour of Haiti Aid.
