On the future of social protection systems: New reference book "Global Social Protection" published
Professor Katja Bender from the International Centre for Sustainable Development (IZNE) at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (H-BRS) has published a new book on Global Social Protection together with Professor Markus Kaltenborn from Ruhr University Bochum. "Global Social Protection" provides a comprehensive, multidisciplinary overview of how institutional structures shape social protection systems worldwide and why transformation processes in low- and middle-income countries in particular are crucial for strengthening social rights.

Since last year, the “Shortest/Longest Writing Day of the Year” event has established itself as a successful offering from the library and the Writing Center. On December 11, 2025, almost the shortest day of the year, it was time again for the “Shortest Writing Day of the Year” to take place in the library on the Sankt Augustin campus.
