Information about Doctoral Studies

Doctoral studies are an integral part of our academic mission. In November 2022, the Ministry of Culture and Science of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) granted independent doctoral rights to universities of applied sciences (HAW) in NRW through the PK NRW initiative. We support aspiring researchers in developing innovative research questions and advancing high-quality research in the field of economics. Our doctoral candidates benefit from dedicated mentors, excellent research infrastructure, and an inspiring intellectual environment.

Information about Research

 

Research is at the core of our department. Our faculty members are recognized experts in various fields of economics and engage in a wide range of research projects. From empirical studies to theoretical models, we cover a broad spectrum of economic topics. Our research findings are regularly published in prestigious academic journals and reference works, contributing to the resolution of current economic challenges.

The CSR Competence Center for the Region

In collaboration with the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK Bonn-Rhein-Sieg), the university has initiated a project focusing on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Starting in 2016, both project partners established a CSR Competence Center, jointly represented by both parties. The goal of this initiative is to provide information and raise awareness about CSR among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the region by 2018.

Projects are another crucial aspect of our department. We take pride in participating in various national and international research projects that develop innovative solutions for economic issues. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the real estate industry

In this research project, the relevance of implementation as well as the international and national status of CSR in the real estate industry were analyzed.
