Exhibition “Life without Racism 2.0”

The University and District Library is presenting the exhibition “Life Without Racism 2.0.” The photographs by Gerardo Palacios Borjas reflect the daily experiences of those affected by racism.

“Life Without Racism 2.0” focuses on the individual. The exhibition draws on the everyday experiences of those affected by racism, directing attention to the (structurally entrenched) unequal treatment and discrimination people face.
The portraits encourage us to see each person as an individual and to treat them with the same empathy and openness as we would anyone else.
The photos symbolize respectful coexistence in society.

The library is presenting the exhibition:

23 October – 10 November, 2026, in Sankt Augustin
13 November – 30 November, 2026, in Rheinbach

The exhibition “Life without Racism 2.0” forms part of the library’s “Library in Democratic Discourse” programme. At irregular intervals, the library aims to provide information about democracy, encourage people to get involved and, in this way, strengthen democracy.
Media exhibitions designed to broaden understanding of the topics accompany these initiatives.
