Viva Diversity: 3 questions to… a person with ADHD

ADHD is actually a neurological disease that manifests itself in a change in the brain. Affected people are therefore called neurodivergent. Neurodivergent means that the brain functions differently from that of the average 'normal', and therefore neurotypical, person.

ADHD is perhaps one of the most stigmatised diseases in Germany. Yet about 2 - 3 % of adults in Germany are affected by ADHD. That is a total of two million people. That's why it's high time to get rid of the prejudices and provide appropriate support for those affected. Anna Sommerer, a student of analytical chemistry and quality assurance at the university, would therefore like to clear up prejudices and educate people with reports about her life with ADHD and create awareness for the disease.
