"Diffusion": H-BRS' annual report 2019 now available
"Diffusion - create clarity, overcome barriers, be heard" is the title of this year's annual report. It shows how the university is searching for answers to the multilayered, complex questions of our time. Whether digitalisation, climate change or social responsibility - scientists are getting through their subject areas and in the end they have to make their findings heard.
The theme of "diffusion" has taken on an additional meaning in the year of publication. The corona crisis diffuses into everyday life, it has put the country in a state of emergency. What role science plays in this - this is the question that University President Hartmut Ihne discusses with Norbert Röttgen, Member of the Bundestag and Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, in this year's interview. "Especially in the context of corona and climate change, we are experiencing how important science is as an active companion of our democratic society and political decisions", says Hartmut Ihne.
The publication falls in an anniversary year of the university. It is now 25 years old. It originated in 1995 from the compensation agreements for the relocation of the federal government. In his welcoming address to the annual report, NRW's Minister President Armin Laschet praised the Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg as a "strong motor of structural change in the region".
