H-BRS researchers receive further support for open access publications from the DFG starting 2023.

Supporting open and research-friendly communication in the sciences is also a major objective of the "Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft e. V.". For this reason, they have launched the funding program "Open Access Publication Costs". In 2023, the H-BRS was included in the group of funded universities. For a period of 3 years, scientific articles can be supported with 700 € - subject to the availability of funds.

Funding is provided for scholarly articles in gold open access journals. Further funding criteria can be found on the intranet.

Together with the H-BRS publication fund and the GI publication funding for doctoral students, up to three grants for open access publication costs can be claimed at the same time.
