Design Thinking Seminar

Design Thinking Seminar
In the "Design Thinking" class, students of sustainable engineering work on problems (design challenges) in cooperation with organizations and companies during the course of the semester in order to develop prototypical solution ideas.
Design Thinking

The class follows the approach of problem-based learning. Working in teams, students go through all the steps of the iterative design thinking process based on the concrete design challenge. The cooperating companies act as project and sparring partners, offering the students insights into current challenges of their organizations and being available for questions and exchange. Conversely, they receive a fresh view of their issues from the students, systematically and methodically embedded in the concept of a course.

Design thinking is a multidisciplinary, user-oriented approach to solving problems and designing innovations. The design thinking process combines methods and tools from the fields of design and ethnography, engineering and business administration.

The aim of the approach is to understand the current and future wishes and needs of customers or users in order to develop convincing solutions from the user's point of view.

Companies and organizations use design thinking as an innovation, portfolio and development method to meet the complex challenges of innovation management.

Project partners, preferably from the region, are continuously being sought for the course. If you as an organization are interested, please feel free to contact Corinna Ruppel.
