Speakers are invited to report on modern trends, technologies, frameworks, methods and tools from the state of the art of software engineering. Experience reports on software projects from industry can also be presented here. The Blaue Reihe also invites young scientists to give talks on current research work (e.g. resulting from Master's or doctoral theses). The target group are students from all computer science degree programmes as well as employees of the department with a subject-related or general interest in issues relating to software engineering.

Securing Software Supply Chains: DevSecOps in Practice
"In unserer Präsentation in der "Blauen Reihe Software Engineering" werden wir das drängende Problem der Software Supply Chain Attacks beleuchten. Diese Angriffe sind heute eine ernsthafte Bedrohung für Unternehmen und Organisationen weltweit. Um diesem Problem entgegenzuwirken, werden wir zwei entscheidende Lösungsansätze vorstellen: Git Commit Signing und die kontinuierliche Integration von Sicherheitsscans, einschließlich CVE-Analysen und Credential-Leak-Überprüfungen, in CI/CD-Pipelines.
Wir werden die Bedeutung dieser Maßnahmen erläutern, wie sie dazu beitragen können, Angriffe zu verhindern. Unsere Präsentation bietet einen Einblick in die Absicherung der Softwarelieferkette und zeigt auf, wie fortschrittliche Sicherheitspraktiken die Integrität von Softwareprodukten gewährleisten können."
Tim Bastin
Tim Bastin has been the technical director and co-founder of L3montree since August 2020. He has gained experience in software projects for the German Federal Ministry of the Interior, among others. Among other things, he developed software for security scans in the area of web security and conducts secure code reviews for software in critical areas. He has also gained experience as Senior Complex Software Systems Architect and IT-Security Consultant at Neuland@Homeland GmbH. Previously, he was a software engineer at WetterOnline GmbH and Design & Data GmbH. Tim is currently completing his Master's degree in Computer Science with a specialisation in Artificial Intelligence and Software Architecture at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences. He also obtained his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at H-BRS, specialising in complex software systems. Tim has twice received the Deutschlandstipendium for outstanding achievements.
Sebastian Kawelke
Sebastian Kawelke, Managing Director and co-founder of L3montree, started his career at the German Federal Office for Information Security. There he focused on the topics of virtualisation, containers and Kubernetes. His passion is cloud security. He has gained extensive experience in IT security projects, including for the Federal Ministry of the Interior. Sebastian Kawelke holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, specialising in IT security. He is currently studying for a Master's degree in Computer Science at H-BRS.
The lecture of the Blaue Reihe will take place on Tuesday, 30 January 2023 from 5 pm in room C 115 on the Sankt Augustin campus.

Tim Bastin
Tim Bastin ist seit August 2020 der technische Leiter und Mitgründer von L3montree. Er hat Erfahrungen unter anderem in Softwareprojekten für das Bundesinnenministerium gesammelt. Er entwickelte unter anderem eine Software für Sicherheitsscans im Bereich Websicherheit und führt Secure Code Reviews für Software in kritischen Bereichen durch. Zusätzlich hat er Erfahrung als Senior Complex Software Systems Architect and IT-Security Consultant bei Neuland@Homeland GmbH gesammelt. Zuvor war er Softwareingenieur bei der WetterOnline GmbH und der Design & Data GmbH. Tim absolviert aktuell seinen Master in Computer Science mit Spezialisierung auf Künstliche Intelligenz und Software Architecture an der Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg. Er hat seinen Bachelor in Computer Science ebenfalls an der H-BRS, mit der Spezialisierung auf komplexe Softwaresysteme, erlangt. Tim hat zweimal, das Deutschlandstipendium für herausragende Leistungen erhalten.
Sebastian Kawelke
Sebastian Kawelke, Geschäftsführer und Mitgründer von L3montree, hat seine Karriere beim Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik begonnen. Dort konzentrierte er sich auf die Themen Virtualisierung, Container und Kubernetes. Seine Leidenschaft ist die Cloud-Sicherheit. Er hat umfangreiche Erfahrungen in IT-Sicherheitsprojekten, unter anderem für das Bundesinnenministerium, gesammelt. Sebastian Kawelke besitzt einen Bachelor-Abschluss in Informatik von der Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg, mit Schwerpunkt IT-Sicherheit. Aktuell studiert er im Master Informatik an der H-BRS.
Der Vortrag der Blauen Reihe findet am Dienstag den 30.01.2023 ab 17 Uhr im Raum C 115 im Campus Sankt Augustin statt.
