International Dual Degree in Computer Science (B.Sc.)

In collaboration with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at York University in Toronto, Canada, and the associated partner University of Crete in Greece, the Department of Computer Science at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences offers an International Dual Degree program in Computer Science (B.Sc. / B.Sc.).

Students with a high academic standing in the Bachelor Informatik program at H-BRS or in the Bachelor Computer Science program at York University are eligible to apply for this demanding program which is designed to meet both the degree requirements of York University and H-BRS. 

H-BRS students who wish to participate, will move to York University after their third or fourth semester of study, with at least 84 ECTS completed and a minimum grade average of 2,3. They will spend a full year of study at York to conclude their third year H-BRS requirements taking York University degree-specific substitute courses. Upon successful completion of Year 3, students will have met both the H-BRS and York degree requirements and will be eligible to earn the H-BRS B.Sc. Informatik as well as the York BSc degree in Computer Science.

York students will come to H-BRS after two years of study at their home institution with a cumulative GPA of at least 6.0 (B) and aproximately 60 credits completed. They will spend a full year of study as York international exchange students in the EU. After studying the Wintersemester (Sep-Feb) at H-BRS York students can decide to either stay at H-BRS for the Sommersemester (Mar-Jul) or move to the associated partner University of Crete in Greece. Typically, students will fulfill the H-BRS requirement of an internship and an undergraduate thesis during summer. After the exchange year, York students will return to their home institution and complete a fourth year of study at York University to fulfil their BSc Specialized Honours degree requirements and graduate with the Honours degree.
