Transfer Impulses 2026 at H-BRS: Exchange with Perspective

Transfer Impulses @ H-BRS | 2026 | Visual Computing, AI & Robotics

Friday 13 March 2026

Around 60 participants gathered at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg in Sankt Augustin on 5 March 2026 to explore and discuss current developments in visual computing, artificial intelligence and robotics. The joint event organized by the Institute of Visual Computing (IVC) and the Institute of AI and Autonomous Systems (A2S) combined short expert impulses with application-oriented demonstrations in showrooms and laboratories, creating a focused setting for exchange between research and practice.

The event focused on insights into ongoing and completed projects in the fields of visualization, computer vision, AR/VR, AI and autonomous systems in robotics. Participants had the opportunity to experience research and infrastructure first-hand, including in the AI & Visualization Showroom, the Visual Computing Lab, the Game Studio and the Robotics Lab.

Short project presentations, live demonstrations, company pitches and insights into current practical challenges provided an accessible entry point into professional discussions and highlighted concrete issues arising in real-world applications. The programme was complemented by information on funding opportunities and support services for application-oriented research and transfer projects, presented by the Centre for Science and Technology Transfer.

With this joint event, IVC and A2S underlined their ambition not only to make research visible, but also to actively translate it into cooperation projects. In particular, the combination of concise programme elements, hands-on demonstrations and open networking made clear the potential that lies in close exchange between the university, companies and other practice partners. At the same time, the event took place in a special year for the Department of Computer Science, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2026.
