Business Information Systems (BSc)

Structure Bachelor Business Information Systems

The standard period of study for the Bachelor's degree programme is six semesters. The programme is divided into two study phases of three semesters each. The first study phase covers the basics and begins with specialisation. The second study phase includes in-depth studies, specialisations, the practical project and the final thesis. The module overview provides an overview of the modules and subjects covered in the respective semesters.
Focus

During the second study phase, students have the opportunity to specialise according to their interests. There is a choice between the following six specialisations:

  • Data Science
  • Cyber-Physical Systems
  • Integrated Information and Communication Systems
  • IT Controlling
  • Complex Software Systems
  • Visual Computing
Practical relevance

In a 10-week practical project in the second study phase, the methodological knowledge is tested and further developed on practical problems. Thanks to the universities, scientific institutions and innovative companies located there, the Bonn-Rhine-Sieg science region offers an excellent framework for cooperation, especially for the realisation of practical projects and theses.

Internationality

There are collaborations with universities abroad. A stay abroad during the degree programme is supported by the department. You can find more information about our partner universities abroad at https://www.h-brs.de/de/inf/internationales For advice, please contact our Team Internationales.

The modular structure of the degree programme and the assessment of modules and courses according to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) facilitate international student exchanges. The Bachelor's degree programme comprises a total of 180 ECTS credits.

Courses and examinations are held in German or English.

The examinations take place during the course of study. As a rule, two examination periods are set up for each semester: the first after the courses of the semester, the second before the start of the courses of the following semester
