Global Company Connect is a series of interactive sessions that brings researchers and H-BRS students together with international companies, organizations, and practice partners from different sectors and professional fields.

Researchers and students have the opportunity to meet professionals, exchange knowledge, network and collaborate, explore different industries, gain practical insights, and discover how academic knowledge and research are applied in practice. Through direct exchange with organizations/companies working in Germany and internationally, researchers and students can explore potential cooperation in research, teaching, professional practice, and internships, while learning about career pathways, current challenges, and emerging opportunities across different fields.

Each session features a different organization and area of expertise, from research, technology and engineering to business, finance, sustainability and development cooperation, allowing researchers and students to broaden their perspectives and explore areas beyond their immediate field of study or research.

For researchers, Global Company Connect provides opportunities to establish contacts with international companies and potential practice partners, connect with industry, exchange knowledge and explore possibilities for research partnerships, applied research and other forms of collaboration.

For students, the sessions provide opportunities to learn from professionals, explore career pathways and internship opportunities, gain insights into different professional environments and build international professional networks.

Meet DLR: AI Safety, Security and Research

The DLR Institute for AI Safety and Security conducts interdisciplinary research and development on artificial intelligence at its sites in Sankt Augustin and Ulm. Its work focuses on developing AI-related methods, processes, algorithms, technologies and system environments for safe, secure and reliable AI applications.

Key research areas include safe and standard-compliant AI, cybersecurity in data and service ecosystems, safety-critical data infrastructures, AI engineering, innovative computing methods, and autonomous mobility and logistics. The Institute also connects AI research with industry and supports technology transfer and the responsible application of AI in practice.

Its solutions include high-capacity storage servers, hybrid and all-flash storage systems, virtualization platforms, storage clustering, and data-wiping solutions. 45Drives combines open-source software with non-proprietary hardware and provides technical support, system design, and deployment services for organizations with different data and computing needs.

The company is a close contact of Prof. Ken Kent from the University of New Brunswick (UNB) and already has experience hiring H-BRS students for internship opportunities.

About German Sparkassenstiftung

The German Sparkassenstiftung for International Cooperation (DSIK) is the development-policy arm of the German Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe. It works internationally to support financial inclusion and strengthen local financial institutions.

Its approach transfers practical experience from the German Sparkassen model while developing solutions adapted to local contexts. DSIK works with partners including financial institutions, ministries, universities, associations, and other organizations.

In Jordan, DSIK is involved in initiatives addressing areas such as financial inclusion, financial education, digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and employment, including support for vulnerable groups.
In Ghana, DSIK supports private and financial sector development, including improved access to finance for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), and works with credit unions and microfinance institutions to strengthen sustainable and increasingly digital financial services.

Hadi-Plast is a family-owned plastics-processing company based in Hövelhof, Germany, specializing in the certified production of technical precision injection-molded components made from thermoplastic materials. Its activities include injection molding for the automotive industry, fittings, medical applications, and cash and retail systems.

The company combines modern production technologies with research, development, and cooperation with universities, universities of applied sciences, machinery manufacturers, and raw-material suppliers. Hadi-Plast also works across national borders and supports the development of practical solutions in plastics engineering.

International Activities and Cooperation with Jordan

Hadi-Plast has developed a strong cooperation with the German Jordanian University (GJU), including practical training opportunities for Jordanian students and the establishment of an injection-molding laboratory at GJU. The cooperation also supports education and research in plastics engineering, with a growing focus on digitalization, artificial intelligence, and smart manufacturing.

Through this German-Jordanian cooperation, Hadi-Plast provides an example of how companies, universities, and students can work together to connect academic education with practical engineering, research, and industry needs.
