Student Internship at the International Career Service ★ Bridge2Success of the International Office at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences

"During my two-week student internship at the International Career Service ★ Bridge2Success of the International Office at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, I had the opportunity to gain valuable insights into the day-to-day work of a university. From the initial introduction to working on my own projects, I was able to take on a variety of tasks and support the team in their daily activities.

One of the most interesting aspects of my internship was learning about the Talent Scouting programme. I gained insight into how prospective students are supported on their journey toward higher education and the wide range of opportunities available to them at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences. I was also impressed by the university’s international environment and the diverse services it offers to students from all over the world.

A particular highlight of my internship was planning, conducting, and evaluating my own student survey. The survey focused on whether students actually read the university’s emails. I independently carried out the survey on campus and then analysed and interpreted the results. I especially enjoyed taking responsibility for the project and drawing my own conclusions from the collected data.

In addition to these projects, I gained insights into the Student Advisory Service, supported the team during the major event “Global Talents – Regional Opportunities: Labour Market Integration of People with an Immigration Background from a Business Perspective,” and became familiar with the diverse responsibilities of the International Career Service ★ Bridge2Success. The internship showed me how varied and dynamic working at a university can be and highlighted the important role that international collaboration plays in higher education.

I would like to sincerely thank the entire International Office team, especially Verena Wolf and Abdelrahman Fatoum, for their warm welcome, excellent guidance, and the opportunity to experience their daily work. This internship was a valuable and rewarding experience that I will look back on with great appreciation."
