Audio and video studios

The university's own audio and video studios offer students the opportunity to produce professional audio and video content. After around 18 years, the studios have been completely remodelled and brought up to date.

One look is enough to realise that the students in particular benefit from the state-of-the-art and diverse options for producing their own work or going live on air. With the arrival of the Visual Technical Communication degree programme, all doors are open to them, alongside technical journalists, to prepare for their future careers with professional equipment. More information can be found at the following link:

Audio studio

The new edition of the broadcast-ready audio studio bridges the gap between theory and practice. What is learnt in theory in lectures and projects can be put into practice here immediately. It doesn't matter whether it's radio programmes or radio plays - with the high-quality equipment, there are no limits.

TV booth (newsroom & teaching editorial office)

With a green screen and two remote-controlled Pan Tilt Zoom (PTZ) cameras, simulated live broadcasts for interviews or presentations can be carried out here. The newsroom also offers two editing suites that can be adjusted in height.

Audiovisual laboratory

Training courses take place in the Audiovisual Lab, or AV Lab for short. Students take part in tutorials on editing audiovisual media, discuss their own work and receive tips and tricks along the way. The special acoustics make the AV Lab not only attractive for digital presentations, it is also ideal for audio post-production and the creation of voice recordings and sounds for radio plays.

The remodelling work

After 18 years of loyal service, the old studio has been retired. It gave way to state-of-the-art technology so that future semesters can realise demanding projects. However, some preliminary work was required to ensure a smooth workflow. After three and a half years of planning, construction and optimisation, our students were finally able to use the new studios.
