At the Sankt Augustin campus, the Department IWK boasts a collaborative team of over seventy professors and research assistants dedicated to delivering high-quality education to a diverse community of over 1,500 students. Offering a comprehensive range of eight study programs, our department is at the forefront of research, delving into pivotal areas such as energy efficiency and renewable energies, modelling and simulation, materials and processes, technology communication and acceptance, wireless sensor networks, environmental protection, product development and mechatronic systems.

We encourage international students to take advantage of internship opportunities (Internship Semester) within one of these research groups. Participating in an internship not only provides hands-on experience but also opens avenues for potential collaboration on groundbreaking projects. For those seeking a seamless integration of their internship with their academic journey, there's the option to have the internship recognized as a final thesis.

For those keen on immersing themselves in the German language, we also provide German courses, accompanied by self-study materials in English. It's worth noting that these courses, though conducted in German, are designed to be accessible to non-German speakers. The department understands the importance of fostering a global perspective and ensuring that language barriers don't hinder academic success. Our lecturers will do everything possible to ensure a successful semester abroad to our incoming students.
