The submitted works were awarded prizes in six categories: Knowledge Transfer, Dramaturgy and Storytelling, Visualisation, Graphics, Animation and Moderation.
First, all films that did not make the cut were honoured in a compilation. The high-calibre jury then decided on the awards. This year's members are:

Knowledge communication
The first place in the Knowledge Communication category goes to Christopher Fischer and Fynn Matthes for their film "In the eye of science - the work of Dr Wolf Harmening in the AOSLO laboratory".
In the film, the team explains the modern imaging procedure for examining the human retina at the University Hospital Bonn. Prof. Johannes Geilen speaks in his laudatory speech of an exciting insight into the current state of research and emphasises that the video can be understood without any prior knowledge.
The second place in the Knowledge Communication category goes to Alexander Buss and Tim Ludwig for their entry "How does Bluetooth work?"
The film is dedicated to a technology that we all use every day and which, to be honest, we usually have no idea how it actually works. According to Prof. Johannes Geilen, the film particularly impresses with its simple, clear language combined with very successful visualisation.
Dramaturgy & storytelling
The first place in the dramaturgy and storytelling category went to Astrid Senger, Alexandra Suchan and Lara Schulzky with their film "The Value of the Conversion Laboratory"
In this film, the jury was struck by the particularly bold choice of the narrator. The old house in the film tells its story from its own perspective. "The film creates a special closeness between the viewer and the house and is thought-provoking. With great attention to detail, a supposedly dry topic is turned into a lively story," said jury member Meike Seibert.
The film is not yet available to watch online.
The second place in the dramaturgy and storytelling category goes to Astrid Senger, Frida Lemm, Paula Dekarz for the image film "Just keep Swimming"
According to laudator Sabine Fricke, the film is lively, approachable and emotional. It convinces with extremely strong images, clear direction and convincing acting talent. The visual metaphor of swimming not only lends the film a strong visual language, but also enhances a supposedly dry topic in an extremely smart way.
Visualisation
The first place in the Visualisation category goes to Alexander Buss, Milena Hornig and Tim Ludwig for their image film"Der Siegtal Fighters - Der Kampfsport Club in Siegburg"
Laudator Inga Kaiser speaks of a strong, professional visual language that authentically captures the dynamics of martial arts. The editing is rhythmic and effective,
especially in the coordination of image, music and boxing actions
The second place in the Visualisation category went to Marlon Bohnwagner and Emelie Rehm for their film "Between wood, sweat and shavings: What does a carpenter actually do?" .
In her laudatory speech, Inga Kaiser describes how the master carpenter's workshop is atmospherically staged - with many strong close-ups of sawing, sanding and technical details. The camera always stays close to the protagonist and allows us to experience his work first-hand. The portrait tells its story clearly and convincingly without any off-screen commentary.
Graphics
Ricardo Ray Jacome Zaldumbide was awarded first place in the graphics category for the animated explanatory video "Unter Strom"
Sabine Fricke emphasised in her laudation that the piece was consciously kept simple and straightforward and told in a child-friendly way. Complex relationships are told with humour in the film. "Unter Strom" is a didactically successful and very accessible film that shows how good design can impart knowledge.
The second place in the graphics category goes to Henrik Baumanns, Frida Lemm, Sarah Probst for "Brush in a Rush".
Klaus Wache emphasised in his laudatory speech that the film immediately whets the appetite for the product. A fictitious hairbrush that conjures up a different hairstyle in one go is advertised here. "It doesn't just save the hairstyle, it saves the whole evening," says the graphic designer, referring to the film's story. He praises the look, editing and typography of the retro-style film.
Animation
The first place in the Animation category goes to Annabelle Altmann, Lara Krill and Foxey Mickeler for "iEye
According to laudator Klaus Wache, the film shows how modern product presentation works. The story and the virtual product are perfectly combined here. "The elaborately designed 3D eye immediately makes a visual statement," said the presenter. In addition, strong augmented reality elements ensure that you stay tuned.
The film is not yet available to watch online.
The second place in the Animation category goes to Alexander Buss, Lukas Antoni, Ömer Demir for "SkyDrive - The Flying Car"
The film impresses with its clarity, humour and craftsmanship - with its coherent story and the wonderfully integrated and cleanly produced animations. In addition to the music, successful acting and beautiful shots, laudator Sabine Fricke particularly liked the ending: "The passenger flies out of the flying car - a humorous break that stays in the memory."
Moderation
The first place in the moderation category goes to Lena Wohlgemuth for the studio production "Data protection: Is our privacy in danger? Cappuccino Talk No. 7"
Laudator Meike Seibert sees the programme as a respectful conversation that Lena Wohlgemuth leads with confidence, calm and clarity. Her intelligent and in-depth questions show that she has prepared intensively for the topic. She responds attentively to her guest's answers so that a conversation can develop and doesn't lose sight of the central theme.
The second place in the moderation category goes to Milena Hornig for "Kosmos Studio: A look behind the scenes"
Johannes Geilen praises the clear structure, professional presence and very confident moderation. "Despite a running time of over 29 minutes, you're guaranteed not to get bored. Not everyone can manage that," says the laudator.
