Fundraising and lecture

The International Centre for Sustainable Development (IZNE), together with the non-profit aid project Labdoo.org, is organising a fundraiser for IT donations for children and education around the world, as well as a lecture as part of the Sustainability and Diversity Day at the Sankt Augustin campus.

You have laptops, tablets or e-book readers that are no longer in use?

Whether laptops, eBook readers or tablet PCs - if your private devices are no longer in use and are still in good condition*, they can be donated to the Labdoo.org association. (*Please note minimum requirements) This organisation distributes them worldwide so that children and young people at home and abroad have access to IT, education, language courses and participation in the digital society. This not only does good, but also avoids electronic waste.

„In Germany, too, there is a great need for IT to enable digital participation, be it for needy families, immigrant schoolchildren from Ukraine or other countries. Labdoo has already arranged over 40,000 IT donations at home and abroad.”

Ralf Hamm, First chairman Labdoo.org e.V.

Donate now and do good

Private donations can be handed in from now until 10 May 2023. The collection point is the service desk of the library at the Sankt Augustin Campus. On 10 May at 17:00, donations can also be brought directly to the Labdoo.org lecture (the room will be announced).

Lecture and handover of donations

On 10 May at 17:00, Ulrich Guzinski, vice-chairman of Labdoo.org e.V., will give a lecture on the aid project as part of a course by Prof. Dr. Stefanie Meilinger: "Labdoo.org - enabling digital participation and education, avoiding electronic waste". After the lecture, all donations collected by Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg will be handed over to Labdoo.org.

The lecture is open to all interested parties and without registration. You are cordially invited (the room will be announced).

„Labdoo helps almost 800,000 students, flood victims, refugees from Ukraine and other countries at home and abroad - a huge task. And our waiting list is long. Therefore, we are happy about any help.”

Ralf Hamm, First chairman Labdoo.org e.V.
