Large crowds at H-BRS company day 2025
"For us as a university of applied sciences, studying and working are not strictly separate phases of life. For us, careers begin during the degree programme, through practical projects, internships or final theses in companies. It is therefore particularly important to us to bring students into contact with companies during their studies. With the Company Day, we want to make an effective contribution to securing skilled labour in our region," says University President Marion Halfmann.
Attractive for both sides
Getting to know each other early on is attractive for both sides. "The students gain professional experience and the companies get to know their potential future employees at an early stage," says organiser Birgit Jendrock. A wide range of industries were represented at the company day, from IT and mechanical engineering to media companies. The mix of sectors meant that students from all five faculties at H-BRS (Management Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering and Communication, Natural Sciences, Social Policy and Social Security) had interesting companies to discover.
"Engine for the regional labour market"
"The Company Day is an engine for the regional labour market. This is where companies meet the practically trained specialists of tomorrow. The wide variety of companies, institutions and sectors represented at the Company Day illustrate the university's close links with the regional economy. This is how the university's potential in research and teaching becomes effective for business and society," emphasises Vice President Research and Transfer, Professor Johannes Steinhaus.
In addition to discussions and job offers, the event offered free additional services such as application photos by professional photographers, a CV check and presentations on both days of the fair (Wednesday, 5 November and Thursday, 6 November). The university organised the Company Day for the first time this year in collaboration with the Red Braid agency.
H-BRS presents itself as an employer
The target group for the Company Day are students, career starters and young professionals. Not only H-BRS members, but also external visitors are welcome. In previous years, many students have found an employer at the fair - some alumni were once again on the other side of the fair stand this year, recruiting young talent for their company at their former university. The university itself also presented itself as an attractive employer at a stand.
