From research to fair: H-BRS at Gamescom 2026

Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg (H-BRS) will be represented with a stand at Gamescom (Wednesday 26 August 2026 to Sunday 30 August 2026). Throughout the five days of the computer games fair in Cologne, lecturers and students will be showcasing current projects in the fields of visual computing, games technology and autonomous systems. Visitors are invited, for example, to be transported into a fantasy scenario with the help of AI or to learn about industrial robotics. Those interested can find the university’s stand in Hall 10.1, Stand E-014.

The following hands-on projects are available to try out at the university’s stand: 

  • AI Character Generator: Artificial intelligence interprets a photo in a creative way 
  • Industrial robotics: Robot applications from concept to commissioning
  • Farmers’ chess meets artificial intelligence: How AI can be understood through play 
  • Honu video game: An insight into game development, from the initial idea to technical implementation
  • MyJong edutainment game: A fresh take on learning through play.

Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg is a research-intensive university with campuses in Sankt Augustin, Rheinbach and Hennef. In Bonn, it operates the Bonn-Aachen International Centre for Information Technology in partnership with the University of Bonn and RWTH Aachen University. The university offers around 40 degree programmes across five departments (Management Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering and Communication, Applied Natural Sciences, Social Policy and Social Security), with a total of 9,000 students enrolled in the 2025/2026 Winter semester. The H-BRS’s main areas of research include security research, resource and energy efficiency, visual computing, life sciences and health, as well as AI and autonomous systems.
