Our University is Now a Member of EUA

Tuesday 26 August 2014

Universities and universities of applied sciences from 47 European countries are members of the European University Association (EUA), which, thus, provides them with a unique forum for co-operation on questions relating to tuition and research. At the same time the organisation represents the interests of universities towards politicians, to whom it also gives advice on relevant fundamental questions.

The Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences has also been a member of this important network for a short while. Our University’s President Prof. Dr Hartmut Ihne said, “We are happy to see that our University has become a member of the European University Association. This membership also proves our University’s excellent research performance and is an important step towards further networking on a European and international scale.”

For instance, the EUA’s mandate in the Bologna process ensures its rights of co-determination on the issues of university tuition, research and innovation brought forward by its members. The universities that are members of the EUA benefit from an intensive exchange of experience and mutual support in competition - even beyond the boundaries of Europe.
