The eleven students from the Chinese partner university only arrived on Monday morning, which is why they are still a bit tired. Nevertheless, they are looking forward to studying on our Rheinbach campus: in the next two years they will be studying Business Administration within the framework of the “2+2 programme” to obtain a Bachelor’s degree. They have already completed two years of study at Hunan University, which also involved a German course. Hence, the guests are very well prepared.

Today the students visited our Sankt Augustin campus, where they received a warm welcome from Prof. Dr Wiltrud Terlau, Vice President for Internationalisation and International Co-operation, on behalf of the President’s Office. The employees of the Language Centre also introduced themselves; the International Office and the Student Committee (AStA) offered their services as trustworthy partners for any queries or problems arising, and Prof. Dr Jürgen Bode, who developed the 2+2 programme in collaboration with the partner university, among other things, invited the students for a barbecue evening.

The guests have already established close contact with the Study Buddies, i.e. four students of Business Administration who have been accompanying the group since its arrival in Bonn - to the student residence halls, to the Student Union (Studentenwerk), to the Registration Office (Einwohnermeldeamt) or to the bank: even though the young people already have a fair command of German, it is, of course, much easier to find one’s way through a foreign country and foreign city in the company of others - above all, at the beginning.
