The Student Survey in Germany
The Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg is currently in the field phase for "The Student Survey in Germany", the largest and most comprehensive survey of students to date. More than 200 universities from Germany are taking part in the study, which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) and conducted by the German Centre for Higher Education Research and Science Studies (DZHW).
The student survey combines the previous individual studies Social Survey (Deutsches Studentenwerk and DZHW), Student Survey (University of Konstanz Higher Education Research Group), studying with disabilities (best) and the German part of EUROSTUDENT. There is also a questionnaire section for the state-wide student survey in NRW.
Most of the questions relate to study conditions, but data is also collected on topics such as studying with disabilities, digitisation and stays abroad. The survey will be conducted in either German or English.
All H-BRS students will receive an invitation letter with their individual access data by email. The questionnaire is open until 26 September 2025.
In order to avoid duplicate surveys and to reduce the burden on students, the surveys of first-year and higher semesters will be suspended in the current semester and the surveys of higher semesters will be suspended in the coming winter semester.
