International cooperation for the energy transition: Second workshop strengthens German-Colombian research collaboration
From 9 to 13 March 2026, the second workshop on international cooperation between the International Centre for Sustainable Development (IZNE) at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (H-BRS) and the University of Antioquia (UdeA) took place in Colombia. The event was funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and built on an initial meeting held in November 2025 in Sankt Augustin.

Around 60 guests, short impulses, impressive demos and many conversations about concrete applications: at “Transfer Impulses @ H-BRS 2026,” the Institute of Visual Computing and the Institute of AI and Autonomous Systems demonstrated how dynamic the exchange between research, technology and practice can be.

Engagement für Bildung für Nachhaltige Entwicklung (BNE) und MINT-Förderung in NRW
Prof. Dr. Wiltrud Terlau aus dem Internationalen Zentrum für Nachhaltige Entwicklung (IZNE) engagiert sich verstärkt für Zukunftsthemen im Bildungswesen: Kürzlich nahm sie an der 1. NRW Zukunftskonferenz der Nachhaltigkeitsinitiative der Universitäten teil, um für mehr „Bildung für Nachhaltige Entwicklung (BNE)“ einzutreten. Zudem wurde sie als Jurymitglied für die NRW zdi-science league 2025/26 eingeladen, die den MINT (Mathematik, Informatik, Naturwissenschaften und Technik)-Nachwuchs fördert.

We are once again offering an FSJ in tandem from September: Innovation and Sustainability at the International Centre for Sustainable Development (IZNE) & Centre for Science and Technology Transfer (ZWT) at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg (H-BRS) in Sankt Augustin. Applications are now open for the year 2026/27.
