Marie Bergmann: From First Lego League to professorship
Dr Marie Bergmann was presented with her certificate by President Marion Halfmann on 21 February 2026, which identifies her as Professor of Business Information Systems, in particular sustainability and digitisation.

130 pupils from AEG Grammar School discover the world of computer science at H-BRS
Around 130 pupils from Albert Einstein Gymnasium (AEG) visited the Department of Computer Science at H-BRS on the initiative of Christin Voß and AEG's full-day coordinator Jens Canzler. In the lecture hall, they were warmly welcomed by President Prof. Dr. Marion Halfmann, Dean of the Department of Computer Science Prof. Dr. Sascha Alda, and Prof. Dr. Thorsten Bonne. In their welcoming remarks, they emphasised the broad scope and social relevance of computer science and encouraged the young people to discover the many opportunities available to them in this field of study.

Georg-Kerschensteiner-Berufskolleg visits the Computer Science Department at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg
Sankt Augustin, February 2026 – Right at the start of the second half of the school year, three classes from the Georg-Kerschensteiner-Berufskolleg in Troisdorf visited the Computer Science Department at the Sankt Augustin campus of the H-BRS.

Call for Participation: IFIP Summer School 2026 on Data Protection and Identity Management in Leuven
From 10 to 14 August 2026, the renowned IFIP Summer School on data protection and identity management will take place in the picturesque Flemish university town of Leuven. The host is KU Leuven, the alma mater of Prof. Stefan Schiffner, who teaches data protection and data protection technologies as an expert at H-BRS in the Department of Computer Science.

Insights into assistive technologies: ZAT Rhein-Ruhr presents current research
On 3 December 2025, the Zentrum Assistive Technologien (ZAT) Rhein-Ruhr at H-BRS, together with the Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems (A2S) and the Institute for Cyber Security & Privacy (ICSP), organised an exhibition that offered interested parties insights into current research work in the field of assistive technologies. The aim of the event was to present new developments, particularly in cognitive assistance systems, and to facilitate direct exchange between researchers, experts and the general public.
