Access barriers on Sankt Augustin Campus in operation from August
The new access barriers on the Sankt Augustin campus have been in place for a while now, but until now they have remained motionless in a vertical position. From Monday, 4 August, they will take on the task for which they are intended: regulating access to the university's car parks.
There is a barrier system both at the entrance to the large P2 car park in front of the university and next to the G-Building. The barrier at the G building opens the way to car parks P4 and P1 next to and behind the G/H building respectively.
The barriers can be opened with the H-BRS employee or student ID card. To do this, the ID card must be held up to the sensor on the reader terminal at the entrance. Access is possible at any time.
"With the help of the access barriers, we want to control the car park area even better in future and make the stay more pleasant for all users," says Ute Schmitz, Head of the Facility Management, Construction and Security Department.
Exiting the car park is even easier: the card can remain in your pocket and the barrier opens automatically as you approach.
Lecturers can also continue to use the car park. The parking authorisation function has been added to the existing departmental lecturer cards.
Guests and suppliers who wish to use the car park must register in advance at reception. There is a bell and video telephony at the reader terminal for this purpose. Reception will open the barrier manually.
Facility Management asks that you have your work or student ID card or parking permit ready to ensure smooth access.
