Lectures, workshops, exhibitions, and advice on tomorrow's technologies—as part of the “tech4cognition - innovation2business.nrw” conference, staff from H-BRS are organizing a workshop on the topic of wearables for patient monitoring.

Portable electronic devices, known as wearables, are becoming increasingly important in healthcare. They enable the continuous recording of vital signs and open up new perspectives for prevention, diagnosis, and therapy.

The workshop will address the following questions, among others:

What types of wearables are already available?
What specific examples of applications exist in medicine and healthcare?
How do these systems work technically?
What data protection and security aspects need to be considered?
What is the current state of research?

The conference offers a diverse program of lectures, workshops, exhibitions, and individual consultations on the technologies of tomorrow and is aimed at students, researchers, and anyone interested in the fields of health, technology, and digitalization.

Registrations are open until February 27, 2026.

The event is organized by the Zentrum Assistive Technologien Rhein-Ruhr, a research consortium comprising the universities of Applied Sciences Niederrhein, Rhein-Waal and Bonn-Rhein-Sieg, as well as the Universität Duisburg-Essen. This consortium is funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.

The second organizer is innovation2business.nrw, an NRW association for knowledge and technology transfer, which is funded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Protection, and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
