#future_skills@h-brs
Background to the project
Solving complex social, technological and ecological challenges requires networked thinking, interdisciplinary collaboration and responsible action. Higher Education Institutions are therefore faced with the task of not only qualifying students professionally, but also strengthening them in their personal development and in the acquisition of interdisciplinary skills.
With the #future_skills@h-brs project, Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg is pursuing the goal of systematically and bindingly anchoring Future Skills in all bachelor's degree programmes. The starting point is a decision by the Executive Board to anchor 10% interdisciplinary skills in all bachelor's degree programmes. This structural framework lays the foundation for interdisciplinary skills to be seen as an integral part of the degree programme rather than an additional offer.
The examination of future topics should be a common thread running through the curriculum. This is complemented by university-wide, interdisciplinary courses that focus on digitisation, sustainability and social responsibility. The stronger networking of content, modules and subject disciplines promotes a holistic educational experience that enables students to understand complex interrelationships and actively shape the future.
The vision of the project is to consistently combine subject-specific and interdisciplinary skills. The aim is to create qualification profiles that produce graduates who can think in a networked way, act in an interdisciplinary manner and shape the future responsibly. The university's own competency model and the Future Skills elective catalogue create transparency and support curricular development.
