Information on the student ID card
All students at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg, University of Applied Sciences (H-BRS) receive a student ID card upon enrolment.
The student ID card is only valid during the period of enrolment at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences in accordance with the provisions of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia and the enrolment regulations of H-BRS in their currently valid versions. During this period, the student ID card may only be used by the person (student) named on the student ID card.
The right to use connected systems (e.g. library, canteen, electronic access systems) and the right to use it vis-à-vis third parties for the purpose of proving student status expires at the time of de-registration.
If the student ID card is used contrary to these provisions, this may have criminal and civil law consequences.
If necessary, an international student ID card can be obtained at The General Students' Committee (AStA) of H-BRS.
Student ID cards with a printed validity date
If the validity date on your student ID card expires during your enrolment period, the student ID card can still be used. It will retain its functions (canteen, library, electronic access systems) until the date of de-registration. After that, the right of use expires with immediate effect.
A current certificate of enrolment can be used as additional proof for third parties.
Technical issues or loss of the student ID card
If you lose your student ID ard or change your name, a new student ID card will be issued upon payment of a fee of €20.00.

Reason for payment: student ID card and your full name.
No fees will be charged in the event of a technical error or card error.
Possible uses of the student ID card
1. Library
The student ID card is also your user card for the university library.
2. Canteen (“Mensa”)
The student ID card can be used as a canteen card by charging your "Mensa" account at the charging device in the two canteens.
3. Electronic access authorisation
The student ID card opens the barrier to the car parks.
