Public events cancelled until Easter holidays

Tuesday 10 March 2020

The President' Office of Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg decided on Tuesday, 10 March 2020, to cancel all public events at its locations in Hennef, Rheinbach and Sankt Augustin until the beginning of the Easter holidays including Sunday, 5 April 2020. The intention behind this precautionary measure is to slow down the spread of the coronavirus. Teaching and research activities will continue, and examinations will also take place as planned.

Affected by the cancellation are the events of the series "Zu Gast auf dem Sofa" with Florian Jaenicke (Friday, 20 March 2020) and "Bibliothek3 - Stadt und Land" with the Youth Council of the Generations (Wednesday, 1 April 2020), as well as Boys' and Girls' Day (Thursday, 26 March 2020) and the Study Information Day at the Rheinbach Campus (Saturday, 28 March 2020).

So far, there are no suspected cases or confirmed infections with Covid-19 within the university. In this context, the university management would like to point out that in individual cases it is prohibited to enter the university grounds. This applies to persons who are either infected, have entered the university from a risk region and show symptoms of Covid-19 infection, as well as to persons who have been or are in contact with the person infected by the virus.

Posters in the washrooms in German and English with hygiene tips and instructions on how to wash your hands properly are intended to help slowing down the spread of the virus.

The core operations of the H-BRS continues unhindered, examinations and courses take place, and the university committees meet on schedule.
