If you’re not feeling well, don’t hesitate to seek help. The Psychological Counselling Service of the Bonn Student Union (PBS) offers free and confidential support. We are a team of psychologists with extensive experience in counselling and clinical psychology, and with a background in psychotherapy. We are interested in your worries and concerns and will help you to see things from a new perspective. Your family, university or health insurance provider will not be informed. Everything we discuss together remains confidential.

Possible topics for counselling:
  • Workload
  • Exams, exam anxiety
  • Perception of stress, feeling overwhelmed
  • Work-life balance
  • Conflicts
  • Loneliness
  • Losses
  • Relationship issues
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Psychosomatic disorders
  • Clarification of treatment options, if necessary

Consultation appointments take place at the Bonn counselling centre or at the H-BRS Sankt Augustin campus.
Appointments can be made by email or telephone. To book an appointment by telephone, you can reach us on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11.00 to 13.00. At other times, an answering machine will take your message.

On Wednesdays, there is an open consultation hour at the Bonn counselling centre. You can discuss your concerns without an appointment.

Emergencies and acute crises

The PBS is not an emergency service. However, there are support services available for emergency situations and acute crises, should you or someone close to you require them.
There are also helplines that can be contacted by telephone 24 hours a day, including at weekends and on public holidays.
