Viva Diversity: 3 questions to... trans* persons | Information and Exchange | 12:00 - 13:00 | online

„cisgender“ – of, relating to, or being a person whose gender identity corresponds with the sex the person had or was identified as having at birth (Merriam-Webster). Being cisgender is a reality, taken for granted by so many people, that they only know the polar opposite – “trans”. But what is it like not to be cis? We, Jana Haack and Mortimer Legelli, want to answer questions which trans and non-binary people are commonly asked and discuss our personal, everyday experiences of being trans.

This event is the first in the series "Three questions to..." from Respect! by Respect! Viva Diversity.

CitizenLabs – Sustainable participation and research | Information and Exchange | 16.00 – 18.00 | online

Researchers are increasingly using the expertise of citizens to align their research topics to their needs. Likewise, the interest of citizens in participating in these formats is growing. They are increasingly seizing the opportunity to become actively involved and work with scientists to pose questions, collect data, and jointly analyze and apply them. This form of collaboration and exchange often takes place in so-called "Citizenlabs" mostly in the form of transfer, dialogue and participatory formats. Here, scientific, technical and socially relevant issues are addressed and explored from different perspectives.

Science needs the support of the people for whom it conducts research. In this context, sustainability is an important topic. The implementation of national and global climate change and sustainability goals starts at the local and regional level with each individual.

During the event, four successful practical examples from the topic area will be presented. Afterwards, citizens are invited to present and discuss their own ideas.

Inclusion – Why do we need to talk about this? | Information and Exchange | 12:30 – 14:00 | online

Inclusion - Why do we still have to talk about it so explicitly? As a level of diversity, inclusion is often forgotten or relegated to the background, even though the topic is more socially relevant than ever before. What does inclusion actually mean? To what extent do I myself think inclusively or non-inclusively? Why does inclusion play a role at university and in education? And how am I affected by inclusion in my private life and at university? The lecture aims to show why inclusion cuts across all areas of higher education.
