MSc Social Protection: Dates & Deadlines
Semester Dates
The preliminary schedule for the winter term 2026/ 2027 is available for download at the bottom of this page. You will always find the most recent, updated version in the calendar on our learning platform LEA.
Application period for applicants with a visa requirement, with a Bachelor's degree from abroad who do not yet have a visa for Germany: 15 November to 15 February, exclusively via uni-assist, for the following winter semester.
Application period for Germans, applicants without a visa requirement and applicants who already have a visa for Germany (with a Bachelor's degree from Germany or abroad): 15 November to 31 May via Apollo, the campus management system of H-BRS.
Acceptance Notification: by August (on a rolling basis)
Enrolment: August – exact dates will be communicated by the Student Services.
Winter Term 2026/2027:
Arrival in Germany: by September 1st, 2026
Orientation Days of the M.Sc. Spcial Protection Programme: September 8 (for international students), September 23 and September 25, 2026 (for all students).
Attendance at the Orientation Days are highly recommended for all first semester students. More information on the event page below.
On-campus Pre-Courses: September 9 to September 24, 2026
The preparatory courses in Statistics, Economics and Academic Work take place every weekday in the assigned period. There will be ungraded online assessment tests in the end. They serve as a self-assessment for you to know if you need to prepare more before the start of classes.
There will be no hybrid delivery of the class (i.e. live stream) due to the interactive nature of the classes.
Attendance of the pre-courses is highly recommended for everybody, especially if you do not have a background in Economics and/or Statistics.
