News and events - 2021/22 winter semester

Welcoming of first-semester students 

On 20 September 2021, the new students on the Bachelor’s degree programme (BSc) in Business Management were welcomed to the Sankt Augustin Campus by Prof. Dr. Schreiber, Vice-Dean of the department, and Stefan Freitag (degree programme coordinator). Various other events were also held up to 24 September 2021, including a talk about conduct on campus and a presentation on the structure of the study programme, an introduction to the library by the library staff and an assessment test in English, which was conducted by staff from the Language Centre.

Students on the BSc in International Business programme were also welcomed in person on 20 September, with the head of the degree programme Prof. Dr. Meyer among those in attendance. They were also treated to a series of additional events up to 23 September, such as a campus tour led by members of the departmental student council, team building activities, a talk on “Living in Germany” (provided online by staff from the International Office) and an online introduction to the library.

The welcome event for students on the BSc in Business Psychology programme took place online on 17 September 2021 and was carried out by Ms Kawa, Ms Duda, Ms Komp and Mr Ley.

The welcome for students on the MSc programme in Marketing on 4 October followed a hybrid format and was led by Prof. Dr. Böcker, Ms Bonn and Ms Brischke. This was also supplemented with events run by staff from the International Office, the library and the Language Centre, and by alumni from the degree programme, along with a campus tour conducted by members of the departmental student council. 

New MBA students on the CSR and NGO Management programme were also greeted with a welcome speech from Prof. Dr. Katja Bender on 16 September 2021. 

The welcome event for the first students to enrol on the new Start-up Development MBA programme took place on 9 October 2021, with information provided on organisational aspects of the programme. In addition, the students were introduced to the Digital Hub in Bonn, which will also serve as one of the learning centres for in-person courses. Aside from the opportunities to network and get to know one another, the keynote speech by H-BRS alumnus and successful entrepreneur Mark Mühürcüoglu (Cookie Bros.) was one of the highlights of the occasion. The event programme was presented by Prof. Dr. Klaus Deimel, Frank C. Maikranz, Renate van Beek and Christine Haake.

  • 19 November 2021 – 3 January 2022: Mandatory registration for specialisations in the 2022 summer semester
  • 6 – 17 December 2021: Registration for the 2021/2022 winter semester Master’s examinations for the Master’s degree programmes in Management Accounting and Management Control and Innovation and Information Management
  • 7 – 14 December 2021: Week 1 of MBA examinations for the Master’s degree programme in CSR & NGO Management
  • 15 December 2021 – 6 January 2022: No lectures for the Master’s degree programme in CRS & NGO Management during the Christmas holidays
  • 24 December 2021 – 7 January 2022: No lectures for the Bachelor’s degree programmes and the Master’s degree programme in Marketing during the Christmas holidays 
  • 8 – 14 February 2022: Week 2 of MBA examinations for the Master’s degree programme in CSR & NGO Management
  • 21 January 2022: Courses end for the Bachelor’s degree programmes and the Master’s degree programmes in Marketing, Business Psychology and Start-up Development for the 2021/2022 winter semester
  • 21 January – 19 February 2022*: 2021/2022 winter semester examinations for the Bachelor degree programmes on the Rheinbach Campus (subject to changes) and for the Master’s degree programme in Marketing
  • 22 or 29 January 2022: Courses end for second-semester students on the Master’s degree programmes in Management Accounting and Management Control and Innovation and Information Management
  • 24 January – 19 February 2022*: 2021/2022 winter semester examinations for the Bachelor degree programmes on the Sankt Augustin Campus (please keep the entire examination period free in case any examinations are rescheduled)
  • 4/5/11/12/18/19 February 2022: 2021/2022 winter semester Master’s examinations for the Master’s degree programmes in Management Accounting and Management Control and Innovation and Information Management
  • 15 February – 24 March 2022: No 2021/2022 winter semester lectures for the Master’s degree programme in CRS & NGO Management
