Subsidisation/Fundings

In order to be able to reduce the programme costs for you, there are subsidies and scholarships available on the part of the department and the university.

Subsidies

  • Subsidisation by the department:
The Department of Management Sciences subsidises the programme with a fixed amount of money. The amount of the subsidy is renegotiated every year.
The individual subsidy is initially dependent on the number of participants admitted as well as the awarding of scholarships and other funding and can only be determined after admission to the Summer School Programme.

  • PROMOS grant for study travel:
The department submits an annual application for the PROMOS grant for study trips. As the application deadline coincides with the application deadline for the programme, it is not yet clear whether and to what extent a PROMOS grant can be awarded.
  • Grant from the Student Parliament (StuPa):

In previous years, the StuPa of the H-BRS has kindly granted a subsidy to participants in the programme. However, this subsidy must be decided anew each year.

Students who are admitted to the programme apply for the grant themselves to the StuPa. In the past, a grant was only paid out after the stay in the USA.

Fundings

In addition to the support already listed, the department also endeavours to obtain further grants from within and outside the university.

In the past, the Vice President for International Affairs and Diversity, Prof. Dr Jürgen Bode, has awarded a scholarship for every three students on the programme. A decision as to whether further funding from the Vice President is possible is still pending.

Further detailed information on costs, subsidies, visa application and visa fees will be provided by us after you have been admitted to the programme.
