Provides university students and staff with secure internet access using personal access data. H-BRS enables staff and students at the university to access the library's electronic services (e-books, databases, e-journals etc.).
User names for staff and students in each department
Your user name consists of the first letter of your first name, the first five letters of your surname, a department number (1-6), the letter “s” for “student” or “m” for staff, and a domain suffix. Using the student “Joe Bloggs” as an example:
Business (Sankt Augustin campus): JBlogg1s
Business (Rheinbach campus): JBlogg4s
Computer science: JBlogg2s
Applied Natural Sciences: JBlogg5s
Social Policy and Scocial Security Studies: JBlogg6s
User names for staff in administration, the President’s Office and the institutes firstname.lastname@example.org
As their passwords, students are required to use their e-mail access data and staff the password for their university system access.
Education Roaming (eduroam) enables staff and students to access the internet at all participating universities.
Staff and students CANNOT use eduroam to access the library's electronic services (e-books, databases, e-journals etc.).
Access data for staff can be requested through DIAS.
Students are requested to register with eduroam using their e-mail account user name and @eduroam.h-brs.de
Our example is student “Joe Bloggs” from the Department of Management Sciences. His user name consists of the first letter of his first name, the first five letters of his surname, a department number (1-5) and the letter “s”: email@example.com
Password: Same as password to student's university e-mail account
The library offers internet access and high-performance 5 GHz WLAN with the name Bib-Access at both locations.
