Networking meets Middle Ages - Schwarzrheindorf Double Church and Lede Castle

Date
Sunday, 15 June 2025
Time
10:30 - 17:00
Online event
Bonn

If you look north across the Rhine from the riverbank in Bonn, you will see the striking spire of the Catholic church of St. Maria and St. Clemens on the other side not far from the Rhine. Not that big, almost a thousand years old - and quite colorful, this is one of the most important Romanesque churches in Germany. The paintings on the vaulted ceilings inside the church are impressive with prophetic biblical murals.
On this privat event for international alumni and students of the H-BRS, we take a closer look at this architectonical jewel.

After the church tour, we walk approx. 1.5 km along the renaturalized Vilich Creek to Lede Castle in Vilich. Use this time to get in contact. The alumni officer will help alumni and students get to know each other and network. They have many topics in common: Living, studying and working in Germany, experiences with job searching and careers.
We enter the grounds of Lede Castle together at around 12 noon. A medieval family festival is taking place there, organized by many local volunteers. We can expect medieval craftsmanship and fighting displays, jugglers, musicians and traditional delicacies. (See the program here - event page in German).
At the festival itself, participants organize their time as they wish and leave the castle grounds whenever they want.

Kindly note
The trip is a private event. There is no insurance cover from the university.
