University admission and allocation of places for applicants from non-EU/EEC countries who have acquired their university entrance qualification in a non-EU/EEC country

Allocation of places

Admission-restricted study programmes

In admission-restricted study programmes 7 percent of the places available are allocated to applicants with a non-EU/non-EEA nationality and a university entrance qualification from a non-EU/non-EEA country or who have passed an assessment test at a Studienkolleg in Germany.. (This means that only a limited number of places is available). Places are allocated by the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences.

Applicants are selected primarily on the basis of their level of qualification, taking into account the diversity of the various nations. The level of qualification is determined by the grade point average of the grade reports for university admission in accordance with the assessment proposals of the Secretariat of the responsible Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder (Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB).

Admission-free study programmes

In admission-free study programmes applicants who have the university entrance qualification and the required knowledge of German can get a place.

You can find the accepted German language proficiency tests under the link "German language certificates accepted by H-BRS at the bottom of the page.

University Entrance Qualification

If you would like to know, whether your Secondary School Certificate qualifies to apply, you may check it on the DAAD database and Anabin database. You will find these two links at the bottom of the page

If your school-leaving certificate entitles you to study in your home country but is not recognised as a university entrance qualification (HZB) in Germany, you must attend a preparatory course before starting your studies. Further information about "Studienkollegs" can be found under the corresponding link at the bottom of the page.
