The KIP toolkit

The KIP toolkit should contain shared formats, measures and processes and improve the integration between H-BRS, the municipality and the target groups in business, politics and society.

The aim is to promote partnerships between universities and municipalities and to encourage innovation. The KIP toolkit should contain the right instruments for different situations throughout the cooperation, from initiation to operation. It will serve as a marketing tool to support the planning, execution, evaluation, and adjustment of measures and combine them strategically.

The aim is to forge connections and initiate long-term partnerships between partners.

The readiness index

The first step was the development of a so-called readiness index for municipal innovation partnerships. The readiness index is a qualitative measure of the institutional capabilities of current and potential partners and can be used to assess a new cooperation or monitor an ongoing one. The index enables partners to better align their mutual expectations and capabilities.

It also shows were partners still have work to do before building a stable, long-term partnership.

The readiness index can help partners adjust their goals and strategies. Its central criteria are meaning and strategy, experience, concept and connections, as well as organization.
