Global Soil Week 2015 in Berlin

InaNeher auf der Global Soil Week (DE)

IZNE research fellow Ina Neher has taken part in the Young Professionals Programme at the Global Soil Week 2015 in Berlin.

The GIZ on behalf of BMZ, IASS and WOCAT invited graduates, Ph.D. students and young Professionals to contribute to the GSW 2015 in Berlin, to enlist the support of young professionals, scientists, as well as from prospective journalists and media experts.

The interdisciplinary group of 22 young professionals and scientist visited two projects around Berlin before the official start of the conference. The 2000m2 Project  as well as the urban gardening project Princess gardens .

The third Global Soil Week (GSW 2015) is a prominent international forum on sustainable soil and land management, addressing science, politics and media. The GSW aims to raise attention for sustainable and responsible soil and land management in international policy and in public debates

The conference highlighted the importance of land and soil to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in the UN designated International Year of Soils
